Silver Scan-Tool software and Dearborn communication interfaces in one package

The package comprises RA Consulting's renowned Silver Scan-Tool for PC package and the VSI-2534 or the DPA4+ communications reprogramming interfaces from Dearborn Group.
The Software allows you to access all of the legislated diagnostic functions and supports the OBDII, EOBD and HD-OBD communications protocols.


What is J2534?

J2534 is a world-wide standard for automotive reprogramming. It is rapidly becoming the most commonly used API for diagnostic applications. Most OEMs have packages which support this API for reprogramming and so when you buy the Python you will have access to both the RA Silver Scan-Tool and any other J2534 applications that are available from manufacturers websites.


Silver Scan-Tool, mobile OBD diagnosis on the PC or the PDA

Silver Scan-Tool™ software provides test functionality for onboard diagnostics according to SAE J1979 and SAE J1939.

Fields of deployment:
Silver Scan-Tool has been developed for OBDII, EOBD and HD-OBD diagnostics and provides all the necessary functionality required for testing compliance with these standards. All electronic control modules that support these standards can be diagnosed.

Dearborn Protocol Adapter 4 Plus (DPA 4 Plus)

The DPA 4 Plus is the fastest, most rugged, most reliable, and the most versatile RP1210A Vehicle Datalink Adapter (VDA) on the market. 
From product inception to deployment, the DPA 4 Plus was designed and built for speed critical applications such as End-Of-Line (EOL) programming stations and the re-flashing of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) as part of vehicle or component diagnostic operations.
This combination of speed and reliability is why the U.S. Military has chosen it to be the protocol adapter for all wheeled vehicles in their fleet.

VSI-2534


The VSI-2534 is a J2534 Pass-Thru device with a primary purpose to program automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). It provides module programming for development, end-of-line testing and re-programming. Easy to use "Out of the box" J2534 Pass-Thru device.

Supported Protocols and APIs: CAN (ISO 11898, J2284), Single-Wire CAN, ISO 15765, ISO 9141, KWP2000, J1850 PWM (Ford SCP), J1850 VPWM (both GM Class 2 and Chrysler), SCI and GM-UART. J2534 API Version 0404 support.
